This website “” is operated by the Grand Union Wine Society, a not-for- profit organisation (hereinafter, “We”, “Us”, “Our” or“Company”).

1. Information We Collect and Corresponding Purposes
We collect your Personal Information for the following purpose.

1.1 To communicate with You
We communicate with you through email and telephone. This will be to notifying you of future wine tastings and ask you to confirm whether you will be attending. These messages will be sent to you based on your messaging preferences. You may change your email and contact preferences at any
time by contacting your designated committee member. You can opt out of being contacted by Us, but if you do, you will not be notified of future wine tastings. You do not have to be a member to be contacted monthly.

At the time of becoming a member of the Grand Union Wine Society, we will request you to provide details of how to contact you. This may include name, address, telephone number, and email address.

1.2 To retain records of tasting attendees
Where you have requested to attend a tasting we will record this request. When you attend the tasting we will record that you have paid the attendance fee. If you have requested to attend a tasting and do not attend, this will be recorded.

1.3 To retain membership records
Where you have requested to be a member we will record this. Where you have paid your annual membership fee, we will record this.

2. Legal Basis for the Processing of your Personal Information
Consent: You have given clear consent for us to process your personal data for a specific purpose.

You can withdraw or modify your consent to our processing of information you provide at any time, in accordance with this Notice by contacting your designated committee member.

3. Disclosure of the Personal Information
We do not sell or rent any of your Personal Information. We protect your Personal Information and will not provide it to third parties. Your Personal Information will be held by a committee member for the sole purposes of contacting you regarding matters relating to tastings run by the Grand Union
Wine Society, and for maintaining tasting and membership records.

4. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, modification or correction of, deletion of, or restrict or object to the processing, where required by Applicable Law, of your Personal Information controlled by Us. You can request access to your Personal Information held by Us, by contacting your designated committee
member. You have the right to request a copy of certain information you have provided to Us, and to ask Us to transmit this Personal Information to another company.

If you think that any Personal Information We have collected about you is inaccurate, outdated or unlawful, or if you would like to limit the use and disclosure of such information, you may send a reasonable written request for review to your designated committee member. If you are unclear who

In certain situations, and subject to Applicable Law, We may not be able to comply with part or all of your individual requests. For example, We may not comply with your request if doing so:

  • would reveal Our or a third party’s confidential information

5. Data Retention
We retain Personal Information you provide as needed to contact you. After you cease to be a member of the Grand Union Wine Society, the maximum period we will retain your personal information in six years.

6.1 Minimum age
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend.

6.2 Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. If We make any material changes to Our Notice, We will notify you by email or by means of a notice through this website. Please review changes carefully.
